What is the format of an Amazon affiliate link?
The minimal, reliable format is https://www.amazon.com/dp/ASIN?tag=yourtag-20. The ASIN identifies the product, and the tag suffix identifies the marketplace your Associates account is in — "-20" for the Americas (amazon.com, .ca, .com.mx, .com.br), "-21" for the UK, Europe, India and the Middle East, and "-22" for Japan, Australia and Singapore. Everything else Amazon appends (ref, pd_rd, psc, qid) is tracking cruft you can safely strip.
Is this Amazon affiliate link generator free?

Do I need Amazon SiteStripe to make an affiliate link?
No. SiteStripe is Amazon's official in-page toolbar for building links while you browse the Associates site, and it works well when you're logged in on desktop. This generator is for when SiteStripe isn't handy — making a link on your phone, from the app's Share sheet, for a marketplace you aren't currently logged into, or when SiteStripe is slow or won't load. Can one Amazon affiliate link work in every country?
No — a raw Amazon link only pays commission on the one marketplace it points to. An amazon.com link clicked from the UK, Germany, or Japan earns you nothing, and the visitor often sees higher prices or a "cannot ship to your address" notice and leaves. To earn across countries you need to send each visitor to their own local store, which is exactly what a Smart Link does automatically.
Do Amazon affiliate links expire?
The link itself does not expire, but it can break: if the product sells out, the listing is removed, or Amazon changes the ASIN, a hard-coded /dp/ link becomes a dead end. Wrapping it in an editable Smart Link lets you swap the destination later without republishing every post the link appears in.
Can I shorten an Amazon affiliate link without losing the tag?
